Love is friendship caught on fire

Girl Talk: I Fell In Love With My Best Friend | The Frisky:

"Two days later, I showed up at his apartment with a homemade pumpkin pie I made him for his birthday. When he leaned over to kiss me for the first time, I almost started laughing. This was Ethan, the man I had gotten to know so well over the past eight months, my best friend. With Josh I used to feel nervous and self-conscious. I’d hold in my stomach and make sure I was always wearing makeup, even in the morning. With Ethan, I didn’t have to fake anything. I remembered the expression, love is friendship caught on fire.” That’s what had happened, we caught on fire."
I think that's what love is supposed to feel like. It's supposed to feel comfortable and honest. I think it's supposed to feel like you can truly be who you are without any hesitation. I think more often than not, we try to be the perfect fit for someone else that we loose ourselves along the way. By loosing ourselves, we can't ever be truly happy. So, by forming a deep friendship, we can be happy in more ways than one. We can be ourselves while sharing our lives with that special someone.

Crazy.Stupid.Love.

I watched Crazy, Stupid, Love yesterday. The movie was awesome! It's my new favorite movie. There were unexpected twists. It made me laugh. It made me cry. Most of all it gave me a lot to think about.

The premise of the movie revolves around find one's one and only true soul mate. This is confusing to me. Can this be? Could it really be true? In the movie, the main characters each have one true soul mate whom they fall in/out of love.  This is troublesome to me. What are the chances that people actually find their one true love.

I think that people have many individuals who can and do fulfill different purposes in their lives.  This includes significant others. I think people have many different options for love, and many individuals who are good fits for them. Otherwise, there would either be a lot more people who are single or a bunch of married people are living a lie.

This idea of one soul mate also brings up fears for myself.  What if I never find my one true love? or what if I have, but I've let it go and didn't fight for it? I would drive myself crazy by worrying about the what ifs. So, I won't. I need to have faith that I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be in my life.  I believe that everything happens for a reason, and that there is a lesson to be learned.

So . . .  LOVE . . . it is crazy and can certainly be stupid at times.
