dig until you find it.

sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

13. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

14. Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

15. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

16. On hot days, drink lots of water
and lie under a shady tree.

17. When you are happy, dance around
and wag your entire body.

18. No matter how often you are criticized,
don't buy into the guilt thing and pout.

Run right back and make friends.

Astro Guide 2012: Gemini - The Frisky

I read the predictions from the past couple of years, and they were all right on ... it's a bit bizarre reading them after the fact and seeing that these things came true. This makes me excited for what this new year has to come! I'm graduating nursing school and will finally begin my life!

How have you made someone feel?

She is by Ben Rector

One day someone will sing this about me ....
__________________________________

She hails from Boston
She hates the sound that goodbyes make
She loves Sunday's and champagne
She can't stand the winter, she can't stand anything that she can't change
She can't change

She is whatever she wants to be
She is a little of everything
Mixed up so tough in a beautiful way
She's got the world at her fingertips
She makes beauty look effortless
And I want everything she is
She is
She is
Well I want everything she is

We can talk for hours
But she wrote the book on hard to get
No it don't matter what I say
I could buy her flowers
But that's just too cliché to impress a girl like her
But y'know I kinda like it that way

She is whatever she wants to be
She is a little of everything
Mixed up so tough in a beautiful way
She's got the world at her fingertips
She makes beauty look effortless
And I want everything she is
She is
She is
Well I want everything she is

All I think about
And I can't do without
The good, the bad, the somewhere in-between
Oh because I want everything she is

Whatever she wants to be
She's a little of everything
Mixed up so tough
In a beautiful way

She is whatever she wants to be
She is a little of everything
Mixed up so tough in a beautiful way
She's got the world at her fingertips
She makes beauty look effortless
And I want everything she is
She is
She is
Well I want everything she is

Life is good

I feel so blessed to have the life that I have. There are so many ups and downs but I don't think that I would have it any other way. The bad times makes me appreciate the good times that much more. There are people that have come  in and out of my life and each one have taught me a new lesson. AND for whatever reason I haven't kept them in my life but I will forever hold them in my heart because of all that they have taught me. So for that I'm grateful to have had those experiences. Through each adversity that I've conquered, I know I am worth it and that I am strong enough to make it through anything.

The house feels soooo empty!

The little boo is staying at Grandma's this week because I've been working 12 hours days back to back.  The house feels so incredibly empty without. He's so stinking cute! I love having him around. He gives me so much joy.  I can't wait to have him back. One more night of work. A lot of studying tomorrow. Maybe a date? Then the boo comes back on Monday. We're both so lucky to have my aunt in our lives. She loves him so much as does my uncle. I know he's in good hands with them :o)

On another note, I met someone last night at work who makes my knees weak! I felt like a little girl while talking to him. I was nervous and shaky. It was a nice feeling. I hope to work with him again. It would be nice. On that note ... I should probably start getting ready. Last 12 hour night for the week!

Baxter Boo

I have the cutest puppy dog in the world.  He's incredibly sweet and so smart! He makes me heart smile.  He's very loyal, and I'm convinced my aunt wants to steal him.

When we were talking on the phone yesterday, she mentioned that she's going to start driving to Indy on Saturdays so she can have Bax for the weekend. I think it's so cute that she loves him so much. My uncles has been bugging her ... asking her when I'll be visiting home again.  When she asked why, he said he misses Baxter.

I think he's a lucky guy to have us in his life. More importantly, I think we're lucky to have him.  He came into my life at the perfect moment. A time when I was very vulnerable!

This is for you Baxter-boo! Thanks for being such a good puppy dog!

I love you!

A grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart

A little over a week ago, I lost my grandfather.  He was 80 years old ... not horribly old, but old enough to have lived a long productive life.  He was a father of six . . . five girls and one boy . . . and a grandfather to eighteen.

He wasn't a perfect man, but who is? He certainly made mistakes in his life, but the important thing is that he learned from those mistakes. I know that he loved his family and was a caring man, but more often than not the strong silent type. I don't remember him laughing very often, but when he did you know he meant it.  And his smile . . . it was contagious.

I think he often worried about all those around him. He even had the wrinkles to prove it.  I think he worried the most about my grandmother, who I am often worrying about myself.  She's had her bouts with health care system and has been hospitalized at least twice that I can think of.  He took care of her even amidst his own illness . . . being the sicker of the two.  Now that he's gone, she's a wreck.  She hasn't been taking her meds and, as one would imagine, is heartbroken. My mom doesn't think that she's going to be alive for very much longer.  As we often hear, I think she may die of a broken heart.

As a young child I remember sitting in his lap feeling the warmth of his love.  As kids, my cousin and I love him so much that we stole his cigarettes and threw them out when he wasn't looking.  I don't think he was very happy about that.  I guess that even as kids, we knew that would end up being his demise.  He ended up smoking until the day he died.
